Help Requested

I'm looking for Saints who were converted or whose lives were changed from hearing either the Gospel preached or proclaimed at Mass.

St. Antony comes to mind,

But I'm looking for others.

  1. St. Paul of the Cross, if I am not wrong, is another case.

  2. Bob and Penny Lord, who have an EWTN series on Saints as well as a website, could probably help you with this.

  3. I suppose the Eucharistic Martyrs whose lives were drastically changed by the Mass are extreme examples. The Liguorian magazine has info. on them in Oct. or Nov, (Fr. Nolan's column).

  4. Doesn't Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton fall into this
    category?

  5. The great Augustine. Not a gospel, but Scripture. Not preaching, but individual reading, after years of being taught by his mother (Monica, q.v.)

  6. St. Augustine was converted -- at least in part -- by hearing St. Ambrose preach sermons in Milan.
