Pope Doesn't Read Address Today

Understandable after the grueling schedule he has kept over the past two weeks. It would tire a young man. let alone a man in his 80's suffering from Parkinson's disease.

From Channelnewsasia.com:

"On the advice of his doctor, Pope John Paul II will not read out his prepared speech at his weekly audience, the Vatican's spokesman said.

'He accepted the advice of his personal doctor after his punishing schedule during Easter week and will not today personally read the text of his speech for the weekly audience,' spokesman Joaquin Naravrro-Valles told reporters at the Vatican on Wednesday."
